This beautiful Country

Image
I just wanted to give you a few pictures of the beautiful country that we are blessed to live in.  Obviously, I am partial to the ocean.  I am so grateful to God for giving us a beautiful world for us to enjoy. We are currently preparing for our trip stateside.  I will try to remember to blog some while there, but as you know, I have a hard time remembering when I am here and on a schedule, so no promises. Much love, Ronda

Days 2 and 3 of Evangelism

Continuing from the last blog... On Day 2, Rich took half of the students and went to Korsang Peam. At the gathering in the afternoon, they had 8 adults and LOTS of kids (per Rich). I went to Sen Sok, which is a congregation in Phnom Penh but out toward the airport. There, Doris Morrison along with Cambodian staff runs an English school for children. So here, our students went out but for the most part in the afternoons, we had the kids that normally attend classes there. At this time, 2 of our graduates spend a couple days a week going around this area talking and studying with the people in this area. Day 3 - Rich went to Preytachey. In this place, they just went house to house visiting with the people there. During this time of the year, in this area, they are wrapping up their harvest. So, it is difficult for the adults to take time off and come meet for a couple hours in the afternoons. I went to Krangdong. This is the place that one of our first graduates and his f

Evangelism Week

We split the Evangelism week this time and so only did 3 days. Since Dennis Welch is in the US, and he usually drives one of the vehicles, I took one van and Rich took the other. We split up students and covered 6 areas in 3 days. Each day is basically the same. We get there in the morning and the students go out down the roads visiting with people in their homes, studying with some at that time, and asking if they had some time to come meet with us and listen usually at 1 or 2 pm. The girls teach the children at the same time. Day 1 - Rich went to RangDek with 11 students. In the afternoon meeting time, they had 12 adults and about 50 kids. I went with 9 students to Tropangkonseng. This was a new village that we hadn't been to before. It is close to one of the new congregations of LVea that we have just been able to start. In the afternoon, we had 15 adults and about 40 kids. An interesting note at this place. As a couple of the girls and I were going down the roa

Bruce and Kim Binkley, Kayla Maynard

I promised I just wrote a blog! How can it be 2 weeks old?? So, sorry that it has been awhile. Mid March brought the leaving of Kayla Maynard who had been here for 2 months teaching English at the BEST Center. We enjoyed her being here and hope she will always treasure the time here. However, mid March also brought the Binkleys to us. Although they were only here for a short time, we thoroughly enjoyed just being able to sit and visit. We were thrilled that they took the time out of the middle of a business trip to come spend a few days with us. It is always a special treat to visit with really great friends! Much love, Ronda PS. Rich and I spent 3 days last week in 6 different villages with the students teaching. More on that in the coming blog...hopefully, not 2 weeks away!
