Bob and Sandy Jackson

Image
We were thrilled to have Bob and Sandy Jackson back in Cambodia. Bob taught Characteristics of Jesus to our students at CBI. Sandy taught several students English using the Bible at the BEST Center. She also taught a lesson on Mary for the Ladies Day. We are grateful to them for coming and sharing their knowledge of God's Word and their love of God with the Khmers. We look forward to their next visit. Ronda

Rodtah's baptism

Image
We were thrilled when Rodtah, one of our new students, decided to be baptized. In the school, he had just studied Mark and Matthew and is now studying Characteristics of Jesus with Bob Jackson. He is a wonderful kid and a good student. We look forward to seeing his leadership in the church here in Cambodia. In our school, at this time, Bob Jackson is teaching the Characteristics of Jesus in the mornings and my dad, Loren Hollingsworth is teaching Daniel in the afternoons. Due to the fact that Daniel is a difficult book, our newer students are taking a separate class on Old Testament Survey. It is so encouraging seeing God's church grow and the work moving to new places and in new hearts. Much love, Ronda

Sokun's wedding

Image
Sokun is one of our graduates. He has just started the church in his village south of Battambang city. He and his wife, Sorn, got married on Jan 28th. Since he was a student, we cancelled school on Friday afternoon and took our students to Battambang province. We stayed in various homes of our students and friends Friday night and Saturday night. We had dinner on Friday night and the wedding was actually Saturday morning with a lunch afterwards. The Cambodian people believe wholeheartedly in LOUD music during their celebrations. The wedding was outside with a tent overhead. In the front, there was a wall of speakers, about 12 feet long and 9 feet high. It was LOUD! On Sunday morning, we met with the congregation there at Sokun's house before driving the 5 hours back to Phnom Penh. Please pray for Sokun and Sorn in their marriage as well as the new congregation there and Sokun's work with them. Soklee, another one of our graduates from the same area has moved back to he

I'm behind again!

Here is finally the picture of George and Hilda Carmen. They are back in the US now, but we so appreciate the teaching that George did at the school here and Hilda's willingness to come along. We have had a lot of exciting news lately. One of our graduates, Sokun, started a congregation in his village a couple months ago and they have had 11 baptisms there. In a later blog, I will show you pictures of his wedding that we attended. Then, last week, one of our new students, Rodtah, was baptized as well as a girl that has been visiting. Today, in a village that we have been teaching in, there were 18 baptized. So much exciting work. Watch for future blogs and more information. Much love, Ronda

Kayla Maynard is here!

Image
Kayla Maynard got here the night of January 16th. Julie plans to keep her busy at the BEST Center in a couple weeks, so we decided that now was the time to see other parts of the country. So, Friday, the 20th, Kayla and I hopped a bus and headed to Siem Reap. Here are some picture of the Angkor Wat area. The first picture is Kayla by one of the trees at Ta Prohm temple. The 2nd picture was taken at Bayon temple and the 3rd is on the Elephant Terrace. Kayla will be here until the middle of March. Again, she will be primarily teaching English at the BEST Center, but she is also able to go with us to chapel each morning and will have time to see other sights around Phnom Penh. Much love, Ronda
