Family - before Rebekah left

Image
We had a 'going away' party for Rebekah with the khmers. We had about 35 people for dinner and devo. It was nice. After, we took some pictures. So here are our sweet children. Great to have them all home with all the talking, laughing, jabbing going on! I think the khmers are enjoying watching us interact with each other, as their culture is one of much respect (which is great) but no 'playing' between parents and kids. God blessed us with a wonderful family. And as Rebekah has now left us, we are reminded and are grateful for those of you who love our children as well. We are truly blessed! Ronda

RANDALL'S HERE!

All my sweet babies are home!!! It is SO much fun to have all the interaction, laughing, talking, joking, etc. God was so great to us when he gave us families! Randall got in Wednesday night, but we have had internet service problems so I am just now able to get on. So, for the next few days, we are going to enjoy our kids and show them around Phnom Penh. Write more later! Love you all ! Ronda

JASON'S HERE!

OK. Still no pictures. But I'll get the camera out soon. Jason got in yesterday morning. Oh! By the way, Happy Mothers Day to all you mothers out there!! As you know, if you travel, that jet lags usually gets you in the afternoon if you are going this direction. So, at 4pm, we were at church services. Bible class was in English and translated in to khmer, but worship was in khmer. Jason made it through. I guess Senior Honor Night is currently in full swing at Broken Arrow. I hope for all you seniors and parents, it is a very special night. (Monday morning here) It is the king's birthday, so we have a 3 day holiday starting tomorrow. So for this week, language school only Monday and Friday. We had a midterm last Friday. Not fun. Well, Rebekah and I are going to show Jason and Reuben our market and get some of that great fruit! Love you all! Ronda

REUBEN'S HERE!!

Image
BUT I don't have any pictures of him yet. He got in this morning minus one bag that got left in Taipei. It has been located and should be here tomorrow. We are so excited that he is here and look forward to Jason and Randall coming! The first picture is of Rich, Rebekah, and I with Harvey, my uncle. He was here on a business trip so we got to spend a little time together. We really enjoyed it! The 2nd picture is a little girl practicing on her English letters. Her mom has a planter/pot shop. I thought she was cute.

Stolen - Rich's Version

Image
Hey, friends, let me give you my version of the thefts. Also, here are some pictures of the Fellowship meal after church Sunday. We have class at 8 a.m., worship at 9 a.m., so lunch usually starts about 10:15 a.m. First, you should know that we have two locks on our gates. Usually both of those are in place, if not locked. We share a courtyard area with our neighbor (who is also our landlord). So, a couple of weeks ago, while the Jerry and Mary Alice Cantrell were with us, we had some thiefs get into our courtyard during the afternoon. They stole Jerry's tennis shoes and Rebekah's motorcycle helmet out of our garage. They also stole a pair of shoes out of our neighbor's garage. Just so you know, our garage is not like one in the U.S. The front windows of our living room open up into the garage. The best we can tell, the thefts occurred in the afternoon, between 2-4 p.m., while there were people in our house and in our neighbors house. The neighbor lady happened to see some

Wonderful rains

Image
Lately, we have had nice thunderstorms and rain each evening. It is a little early as rainy season doesn't start until June, but we are sure enjoying it! In the first picture, the little guy with the pink hat is sound asleep. It's been a long day. (Also note that there is more stuff between Dad's legs as there is on the back of the moto) The 2nd picture is construction on a building near us. I took the picture to show the process of pouring concrete. Notice the rope going to the top? And at the very top, even with the top ledge, there is a small bucket. That has cement in it. They haul up one bucket at a time. The cement is mixed by hand on the ground. Every now and then, we are starting to see cement truck with long hoses that shoot out the cement to where it is needed, but most do it this way. Hope you are all doing great! Love Ronda
