2nd Country-wide Church Camp

This past week, we had our 2nd church camp.  It is open to all ages and we had about 140 people attend.

The theme was Growing in Faith. And the lessons were based on
II Peter 1:5-7. We left Phnom Penh at 6:30 am on Tuesday morning and arrived at Srae Ambel at 10:15am.

This is the view in the evening.
We enjoyed the beautiful scenery that God created for us to enjoy.
Everyone was put into groups, taking turns serving meals, washing dishes, hauling the water for the dishes and dumping it, cleaning bathrooms, and picking up around the grounds.

This is Rich and part of his group serving supper one day.
This is one of the evening meeting times.  The singing was great!  We had a nice mix of all ages.  The speakers all had good lessons.

About half of the people had come to the camp last year and the other half were new this year.
This is the view from the hut we stayed in back toward the tents.
Rich taught 2 lessons.  His first lesson was for everyone and he taught on steadfastness.  Then he taught a class to the older men on brotherly love.

I taught the older women's classes on self control and brotherly love.
A picture of the audience during Rich's lesson on steadfastness.
I took this picture, because I thought it was funny.
After breakfast on Thursday, we were to get today with our new Tshirts on and take the group pictures.
I looked over and noticed that one of the guys (he is about 30) had stripped down to his boxers and had his fishing net and was out catching a big fish.
It took him about 2 minutes after getting the fish, to get back into his clothes for the picture.
And here we are.  We had a great week!  Please continue to keep all these sweet brothers and sisters in Christ in your prayers before our Almighty God.  Pray that their faith will continue to grow.

This is just an extra.  This picture is of the guys that are "handsome"  in their own estimation.

Yup!  There are goof balls everywhere!

It is so much fun for the Khmer (Cambodians) Christians to get time to play, visit, sing, and study together.  Most of the congregations here are small, so it is encouraging for them to see a big number of Christians all together.
Here is a picture of some of our students at CBI leading the singing the last night.

School starts back on Monday with Rich teaching our students on the Cross of Christ in the mornings and Veasna finishing his course in the afternoons on Biblical Interpretations.

As my new granddaughter, Ryan Hope,  was born on Monday, Nov. 23rd.  and my sweet children gave money for my birthday to help me make a trip back, I will be leaving for the US on Monday (Nov 30th).  I will return back home on Dec. 23rd.

Much love,
Ronda
