A prayer request
Good morning (well, for us anyway). We have a special request of all of you.
As I mentioned in the last blog, due to 4 Chinese women, COVID has spread and nearly doubled our amount of cases. We suspended school for the last week and a half, and are starting back today (Tuesday).
However, today, there was a notice put out that the prime minister has suspended all public gatherings indefinitely.
The prayer request is:
1. For Rich to have the wisdom to know how to continue. As Khemrin is teaching most of the students, starting today, and he lives at the house, as of now, that class will continue. (Since they are all living there and are there anyway - no one coming in or out like a regular school). Rich was to start teaching the 6 new students. As we do not live at the school and being foreigners, we need to be careful what we do. Pray for Rich to have the wisdom to know how to deal with this class. (Especially in light of what I mentioned in the last blog about the foreigners risk deportation and unable to come back to Cambodia is they go against the rules.)
2. Added to this is because of COVID, the ministry isn't renewing our registration now. They said just to wait because they weren't doing any right now. So, we don't have a current registration. No fault of ours, but still, if things get difficult, we don't have the proper documentation and can't get it. So pray that this doesn't become a problem. We have checked back several times but no progress.
3. There is a COVID vaccine from Europe that we can now get. I plan to try tomorrow morning to go and get it. They stated that only 60 and up at this time can get it. The way the Khmers count, I am 60; for us, I'm 59. There is another vaccine from China, but the WHO organization doesn't acknowledge it. As Rich is a year younger than I am, we will see how successful I am before he tries. What they originally said was that all foreigners are to get the AstraZeneca vaccine; but due to the mass of people wanting that one, they have made some changes. So pray God's will be done in all of this.
4. Pray for our students and the church here. As you know, it is hard to know what to do as it seems inconsistent many times. For the last 2 weeks, at the University congregation, we have split into 2 groups, in order to lessen our numbers. Since we have many new Christians, it is particularly difficult for them when they don't get to be encouraged by their brothers and sisters in Christ.
We love you and thank God for you all! We are so blessed to have excellent partners in the work here; you are an encouragement to us.
Much love,
Ronda
