Flooding in Battambang
Sokun and Soklee are 2 of our students who are working in a village in Battambang.
We are incredibly proud of the work they have done for the past few years. They are very active in their community. They did a lot of teaching and helping during Covid. The church there is growing. They have a wonderful reputation among the people there. When we were there last, several people let me know how much they are doing for their village as well as being leaders in the church. They have classes for all ages of kids. Every Friday night, a group of teenagers meet at Sokun's and sing for an hour or so as well.
Sokun is now the village chief. All the villages, even the areas in Phnom Penh, have a village chief that takes care of the needs of the village, etc.
I sent to Sokun a few days ago after I saw his post about the flooding, and asked if, on top of prayers, they had particular needs. He told me food and fresh water.
This is a picture of him going to one of the villager's houses to deliver water to them.
These are the supplies that you, by way of us, purchased for them.
They are in need of more food and water and we will send more (making sure they know it is from the church) to them tomorrow along with money from the church here in Phnom Penh.
Sokun has videos on his Facebook page, but I can't get videos to load on this blog site. I'm not sure if he Facebook is protected, but if you want to try and see the videos, his Facebook name is Sokun Kom.
This is a great opportunity to touch many lives. Sokun and Soklee are working hard to help as many as they can.
Please keep them in your prayers.
One girl, named Sokray. She is from Kompong Thom and is 20 years old.
Two boys from Battambang arrived last night. Their names are Preah Jeah and Jomraun.
Please keep these 3 in your prayers as they start at CBI and begin to learn about the Savior who gave His life for them.
Much love,
Ronda
