CBI Christmas Meal

We are blessed by a friend that sends money each year for us to take our students for a Christmas meal.

The students LOVE it!  For people who don't typically each much meat, they put away the meat in this meal.

Here is the group of us.

They have many places like this here in Phnom Penh.  But the way it is done, everyone pays one price, just like our buffets.  However, all this food is raw.

This is a picture of one of the tables of food that is available.  You just pick what you want and then you take it back to the table and you cook it, either on the grill or boiled.

This is Phalim, Phalin, Wejega, and Eliab.

Eliab just started school at the beginning of this week, so his timing was great!

Sraynich, Gimson and Somnang
Bunly, Khouern, Samai, and Teang
Srang, Jenthra and Srouy

Soknah and Sophanmai
In this picture, you can also see Buntheoun, 2nd on the left and Khemrin, standing on the right.

There is a sign on the wall saying that if you leave food on the table, it cost you by weight.

Rich and I were watching unbelievable huge plates of food being brought to the table.  Then, they went and got more and more.  (Truly, if you can picture a football team eating at a buffet, you have somewhat of the picture of these kids!  Tons of food they put away!)

We told them that if they had food left, they they had to pay for it.  They just smiled at us and said, "Teacher, don't worry!  We will eat it all." And they did!

We all had a great time.  With their university studies being at different times, we were very fortunate that we were able to find a time for everyone, except one of our students.

Also, the first week of December, by sister and I hopped over to Thailand to get health physicals.  Since I haven't had one in awhile, it seemed like a good idea.

I took this picture in Bangkok in front of one of the malls.

We were able to meet up with our parents.  Dad was teaching at the Watcharaporn congregation in Bangkok while we were there, so we got to spend parts of a couple days with them.

Much love,

Ronda

Great seeing faces of students that I got to spend time with last year. Thanks! Especially good to see Samnang, “the sleeping bear.”
