Enjoying our Guests!

I have been trying to blog for about a week now, but couldn't get my pictures to load off my phone.  So, finally, it worked!

My parents, Loren and Penny Hollingsworth are here.  They come every year for the month of February.  This is their 14th year to come; they came a year before we did.  Dad is teaching I Corinthians at CBI this year.  He is also teaching the book of Hebrews on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights for this month.

Our niece, Sierra Hollingsworth and 2 of her friends came on Feb. 4th.
They all are nurses at the Mayo Clinic.  They flew out last night.  We enjoyed their visit very much.

These first 2 pictures are of Rabbit Island.  My sister, Julie, and I took Sierra, Ashley, and Emily along with Tom and Helen Norris (for you BA people, Eric Norris' parents) for a quick 2 days trip.
The beach is always a good place to be!
This is a picture of Sierra, Emily and Ashley.  Sierra and her sister, Asia, came to Cambodia about 7 years ago, so it was Sierra's 2nd visit.
They kind of enjoyed reading about the snowstorms in Minnesota while they were sitting on the beach.
Then, I took the girls to Siem Reap.  Again, Sierra has been before, but this time, she had a list of which temples she wanted to see.

This is a picture of the 5 headed horse that is at the end of the Elephant Terrace.  It is in a tight hidden wall area and the first time that I had seen it as well.
These elephants are at the top and end of the Elephant Terrace.
We, of course, toured Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, and TaPhrom temples.  They are the main 3 temples in the area.
In addition to that, we saw the Elephant Terrace and 5 other temples.
We got up at 4:45 am, so that we could drive out to the temple area, climb the hill and watch the sunrise.  You can just barely see the tip of the middle of the Angkor Wat spires in this picture.
This is another view from the temple on top of the hill at sunrise with Angkor Wat in the background.

We walked LOTS of stairs!

Our truck is getting a workout!  It has been such a blessing to have.
On Valentines Day, our sweet students got us (the CBI teachers and wives) these 2 cakes.  Also, each of us ladies (Mom, Navy, and I) got roses.  It was very sweet of them to think of us.
This is Khemrin and Navy with their daughter Nahkin; then my Mom, Rich, me , and Dad.
Like I said, Dad is teaching I Corinthians every morning at CBI and Hebrews 3 nights a week.  In case that isn't enough, he has also preached twice since he has been here.
Rich did tell one of the men that he couldn't ask Dad to teach anymore as he had enough preparations to do already.

I am very blessed to have a wonderful family.  We don't get to see each other a lot, but sure enjoy it when we do.
This picture was taken before Sierra left.  Rich and I, Sierra, Mom and Dad, and Julie.
Emily, one of Sierra's friends that came, has a sister-in-law that was living in China.  (Because of the coronovirus, she has been in Thailand for several weeks).  So Chloe came here to spend a week with Emily while she was here.
Chloe had been doing her own study on baptism and then studied with Rich for awhile as well.
We were thrilled to get to see her baptism into Christ while she was here.  Here she is, a new creature!  Please keep her in her prayers as she strives to walk with God from this day forward.
Lastly, while we had 3 nurses here, we had them do a couple presentations both at the BEST Center and CBI.  They did presentations on First Aid as well as Diabetes and Nutrition.

Again, so fun to have everyone here and get to share this country and the people that we love.

Dad and Mom will be leaving on the 29th (Leap Day!) and returning to Thailand to teach for another month before returning to Alaska.  Please pray for their travel and their health.

Much love to you all!  Ronda
