March is already here!

Hello!  First I need to wrap up our February.
As you know from the last blog, my parents, Loren and Penny Hollingsworth were here.  Try translated for Dad both at the school and at the BEST Center.  This is a picture of Dad preaching at the University Church of Christ services one Sunday and Veasna is translating for him.
They flew back to Thailand on February 29th.  The plan is that they will leave to go back to the US on March 20th.  However, their flights have been cancelled as they were flying through South Korea, who has a number of people infected with the corona virus(most flights through Seoul have been suspended).  Dad is currently teaching Philippians in Chiang Mai.  They are looking for different flights to get them back as they both have doctors' appointments on Monday, the 23rd.  Please keep them in your prayers.  We think that they will be able (at this time anyway) to fly on EVA through Taiwan.

Rich was teaching chapel one day this week and Nahkin decided to help him.  Nahkin is the daughter of Navy and Khemrin.  She hasn't started walking yet but can get around by crawling and pulling up on things.

This month, Rich is teaching our 2 older students on Sacrificial Systems.  Khemrin is teaching his first class at CBI.  He is teaching the other 14 students on the Humanity of Christ.

This is a picture that I thought you might enjoy.  This is the communion table on Sunday at the Phnom Penh Church of Christ.  It is also the dog's favorite place to be.  Since the church building is also her home, we are used to seeing her walking around during services.

We do have some sad news.  When we went to CBI for chapel on Wednesday morning, we were told that thieves had come around 3:30 am and they stole one of our student's motorcycles.  They had some kind of tool and totally took the padlock apart and got in.  The motorcycles are parked in the back of the school, so they had to walk all the way in and around the building.

I went to the market and got a couple new locks.  These have an alarm sound on them if you jiggle them after being locked (the students were having too much fun with these!).  Also I got locking chains for all the motorcycles; to put around their tire so they can't be rolled off. Of course, the thieves can cut them off, but at least it is a bit of a deterrent as they usually go for what is easy.

We have also talked to the landlord about other things to do that will make the school more secure.

As for the corona virus, we aren't having any problems.  There is only one case reported at the coast and he was a Chinese man who had come in; and that was about a month ago.  The only real hassles for us is that many flights from here fly through South Korea or China.  As we aren't planning a trip to the US until fall, it isn't a problem for us, but we have friends and family that are trying to travel.

Tomorrow is our Women's Day Seminar that the BEST Center puts on.  International Women's Day is on Monday, the 9th.  However, for the sake of those travelling, the seminar will be Saturday.  The theme is "Am I My Brother's Keeper".  It will be from 8:30 am to noon with Bill McDonough and Phanat Ouch teaching.  Then in the afternoon, my sister, Julie, is teaching a class on teaching children's Bible classes.

Also, on March 11th, is our 37th wedding anniversary!  When did we get so old??  We have been very blessed to have a great marriage and family, as well as blessed that so many of you have been a part of our lives.

Much love,
Ronda
