Flooding
One of the major problems is that this flooding is happening at a time that the trash collectors are on strike. Not a good combination.
This picture is of our road. If you can look past the wires, you can see the water in the road. However, our street drains pretty well after a few hours. We have not had any problems with water in the house.
However, the road that CBI is on isn't as good. Last Sunday, when we met with the church at CBI, the water was over my knees. By Monday morning, it was just below my knees. This picture was taken this morning while we were walking to the school from our house. Right in front of the school is where it is the deepest.
I took this picture this morning as well, when we walked to CBI for chapel. The water doesn't have anywhere to drain and we are expecting another strong storm front to come through.
But, we don't have any real problems with the water; it is just a nuisance. As for the trash, they are starting to ask each house for money to haul the trash away. As you can imagine in a tropical country with the high humidity and now all the water, it is getting nasty pretty quickly. We try not to think about what is in the water we are walking in. Ha!
This next picture is of Sokun's house and it is also where the church meets. In Battambang province, where Sokun and Soklee, 2 of our graduates work, they are having a lot of flooding. Keep them in your prayers, please as they deal with this problem and also as they serve God by helping others during this time.
This week, Rich started teaching I John at the school. Pisey, our young new student, did go back home. We hope the short time he was here will encourage him to return to CBI when he has finished his schooling.
Much love,
Ronda
