Our 40th anniversary trip

As many of you know, we don't do things like most people.  Ha!  On our 33rd wedding anniversary, 7 years ago, I asked Rich is we could go to Ronda, Spain for our 40th anniversary.  He said that sounded good.  We sent to the kids and told them that in 7 years, we are going to Spain.  They are welcome to come, but they had to pay their own way.

So, our 7 years of saving and planning paid off big time!  We had the absolute best trip!  The only thing that would have made it better is if Jason and his family could have also been there.  Randall had to miss the first week for work as well.

So, Spain!  We played on beaches and in the ocean, saw castles, towers, cathedrals, mountains, national parks, arabian baths, roman bridges, mosques, ancient city walls, bullfighting rings and caves.  We hiked, played in the pool, rode in vans, buses, trains, ferries, cable cars and on camels.  We wondered all around little roads in many little towns and cities all over southern Spain, sometimes on purpose and sometimes not. (The roads are very narrow!). We were in Sevilla, Rota, Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, Acros, Cortes de la Frontera, Canada del Real Tesoro, Ronda (of course), Gibraltar (not Spain but British Territory), Tafira, Tangier (also not Spain but Morocco), Cordoba, Huelva, and Tavira, Portugal.  Plus a bunch of small towns along the way.

Rich and I made it to 5 countries and 1 territory on 3 continents.

We praised God together, played together, prayed together, ate together and just had fun and cherished the time together.  (Our family is just fun!)  We also got to meet with our friends, Paul and Debbie Pinckley in Portugal, who lived in Cambodia for 3 years awhile back.

We have TONS of great pictures!  And, I know you don't want to see all of them, but I'll post some of the highlights.  We are so thankful to God for allowing us to have the means and ability to take this trip and for the refreshing time that it was.    Much love, Ronda

The huge bridge in Ronda, Spain.  The city is built on 2 cliffs joined by this bridge.  It is a long way to the bottom of the canyon.
Unfortunately, they were doing some work, so we couldn't get the best views of the bridge from the bottom of the canyon.
All of us at the old city wall in Ronda.
Sideview of the bridge.  I will tell you that it is really strange to go into a town where you name (spelled correctly, I might add...no "h") is all over everywhere!  It was great!
