More weddings
On Tuesday, the 7th and then on Friday, the 10th, we had 2 more weddings.
Actually, they were for the same couple. This is Bondeth (groom) and Socheat. They are both members of the church here in Phnom Penh. They were both students at the BEST Center and that is how they met.
They wanted to have a wedding with their Christian family on Tuesday, before having the normal Khmer wedding to appease their parents in the village.
I was so proud of them for wanting to have their Christian family together for their wedding. During their vows, both of them talked about their desire to follow God in their lives and marriage together.
(You should see our truck! The road was terrible!)
This is outdoors. These are tents set up at the bride's house.
I took this picture from my seat. Just behind the girl facing the camera are a couple of the speakers. It was LOUD! Rich and I sitting side by side couldn't hear each other.
But I wanted you to see how elaborate the tents and set ups can be.
If I could have taken a picture discreetly of the entertainment, I would have. A man and woman took turns singing on the stage (in the far end of the picture). Also on the stage were 6 girls who did the dancing in lovely glittery short dressed. It was ... something anyway.
Also, at one of the singer's breaks, Socheat's mom went on stage and sang. We will just leave that there with no comment.
I think I have told you before, but when you go to a wedding here, unless you are family or close friends, you only go to the dinner at night. So basically, we drove 2 hours and 45 minutes for Rich to eat dinner (since I don't eat in the evenings) and then drove back home.
Rich is wrapping up his class on Sermon Prep. Khemrin is teaching the newest 3 students a basics class. Rich will start teaching the Scheme of Redemption on Thursday.
It has been cool here...well, for Cambodia. We have had lows in the mid 70s for the most part, although tonight is supposed to get down to 68 F. We got from our coolest time to our hottest time. In April and May, we are really going to be missing this weather.
Much love to you all!
