Thai Christians Came to Encourage

On Sunday, March 17th, we had a group of 21 Thai Christians from the Soi Somprasong 4 congregation in Bangkok come and worship with us. First we worshipped with the Phnom Penh Church.
The singing was great!  Bhee, one of the ministers there, brought the lesson.  It was such an encouragement to the Christians here.  They also prepared 4 songs that they sang for us (in English and Thai).
Afterward, we had a wonderful lunch.  Then we took them to the school, CBI, as they would be staying there Sunday night.
In the afternoon, at the BEST Center, we divided both the Khmers and Thais up in groups to talk about their conversions, what led them to God, and their walk with God.  Amazingly, the language barrier was pretty easily overcome and there was a lot of good discussion.

At 4pm, we all met with the University congregation.  Again, it was such an encouragement to have this group with us to unite in song and worship to our Almighty God.

This is a picture of the entire group after services.  The Thai are all in pink shirts.

We had another fellowship meal with the University congregation.  Then we all went to CBI for some fun and fellowship.  7 of the Thais had to fly back Sunday evening but the rest stayed at the school and took a bus on Monday morning for Siem Reap.

At CBI, we played Bunco with the group.  It's a great game for meeting different people and changing groups.  The language difference wasn't a problem once we explained the game in both languages.  I think a good time was had by all.  We are grateful to the Thais, for their sweet servant hearts.  We appreciate so much them taking the time and money to come and meet with us and be a support to the Christians here.

Jerry Lundy, our friend and an elder in the church at Broken Arrow is here teaching Galatians now.  He is having a REAL experience as we are having our power cut every day.  Because Cambodia buys power from several other countries, and we are building too fast and using too much power, every day our power is cut either for 3 hours in the mornings or 5 hours in the afternoons.  And, this is our hot season.  So, no AC, no fans, no lights.  Very hot.  Jerry is teaching in the mornings, so today was the first day for him to teach without electricity.   Fortunately, we have "progressed" enough that we now have coffee shops that have AC.  We just have to get out of our area of town, to an area that is on the opposite schedule that we are.  It does make it interesting.  It's supposed to last for 3 months or until we get substantial rains that cools things down.  We are fortunate that we still have water, as we have been told that they might start cutting that as well for 24 hours at a time.

Rich and I will be teaching in the Thai Church camp again this year.  We will be there April 11-18th. We are teaching the adult classes and our theme is Power of Praise through the Psalms.  Please pray that we will share God's Word so that He will be pleased and hearts may be encouraged by the message.

Much love,
Ronda
