Kimsroeun's wedding

On Monday, November 9th, we drove to Takeo province to attend a wedding of one of our graduates.  Kimsroeun is the youngest brother of 4, all that graduated from CBI.

This is our table.  Rich is in the maroon shirt on the right.  There were others there from CBI and the church, but this is the group that travelled with us.

This is Kimsroeun and his new wife, Srayjen.  When Kimsroeun and Srayjen first started "dating", he told me that "she is tall, like me".  They are both much taller than the average Khmer.

Please keep them in your prayers.  Please pray that she will open her heart and become a believer in the true God.

Before COVID, Kimsroeun would take a carload of our students to a village one weekend a month to help the church and teach and preach.

This is the view from our table facing the other direction.  Kimsroeun made sure to tell us that we should sit out there and enjoy the river.

As for COVID, we have been living life just like normal.  The only way you could tell there was COVID is that there is hand santizer when you go into most stores (where the foreigners go, not the markets).  Our schools are in, and everything is basically back to normal.

However, allegedly, there was a Hungarian diplomat that came and after he left, about 50 people tested positive for COVID.  (The Khmers are repeatedly told that this whole COVID problem is because of the foreigners - white skinned people, not Chinese - and there wouldn't be any cases if the caucasians didn't bring it in.  Nevermind that the first case here was a Chinese man and many Khmers tested positive for COVID after being at a huge Muslim conference in Malaysia.)

Because of this, for the next 2 weeks, the public schools are out.  They have announced that you should wear masks and wash your hands frequently.  I did see a few more masks today than I have been seeing.  But for us, we are just doing our normal things everyday.  I wore a mask at the market today (I was given one by a seller) for the first time since July.

Rich is currently teaching the History of the church in Acts.  We have been told that there are several more new students wanting to come, so we will tell you about them soon.  I'll try to remember to take pictures of the students so you can see their faces.

Much love,

Ronda
