Our male students and 5 new souls are saved!
Bunly, Kimchhouy, and Khern (pronounced Khooen)
Touy and Phalin
For these 2, their next class is Basics of the New Testament taught by Khemrin.
Bunthai, who only lacks a couple classes to graduate; Phanit, Sokna and Somnang
They are pretty great! Today the all took their final in Rich's class on the Resurrection.
All the students except the two newest ones will be studying I Corinthians with Rich next.
We got the great news from our graduates Sokun and Soklee that there were 5 new baptisms in their village.
If you remember, this is the village that was flooded and the church was able to provide many with food and provisions during this time. Sokun and Soklee used this time to touch so many lives. We are so grateful that these ladies have declared Jesus as their Lord and King.
Please keep them in your prayers that their faith might grow and that they might serve God all of their lives.
We have had some changes here on the COVID front. A woman who came from Siem Reap and travelled to Phnom Penh, stayed in a hotel, went to a market, went to one of the malls and ate out, now has COVID. According to the prime minister, this is the first case that is a Cambodian without any contact with foreigners. (I doubt that is really true, since we were told from a couple different people that hospitals were being told to cremate quickly if someone died. And no one was tested). So, because of this, 14 others have tested positive and many are still being tested.
The result is that the schools are again closed down until December 16th, as are the work out places, theaters, etc. Daily life for us really hasn't changed much. Our students' university classes are online; and since they aren't supposed to be travelling, they are all still at the school. So Rich is still teaching them everyday. We are in a little different situation since the students live at the school. I try to go to the markets in the afternoon. The bulk of the people go to the markets every morning, so I am trying to avoid that. From the streets, you can't really tell that much has changed. About half of the people are wearing masks but going about their normal lives.
We hope you are all doing well. Thank you for you love, prayers and support. We are so very blessed to be your "feet" in this place.
Much love,
Ronda
