Six new souls saved and another one receives his eternal reward

We rejoice at the news that 6 additional souls have been saved in Battambang province.  This is at the same village of the last baptisms that I told you about.  Sokun and Soklee do a great job working for the church there and being an active part in the community.

Wednesday morning, we found out that Vannak, one of the teachers at the preaching school in Siem Reap, had died.

This is the front of the church building/school.  My sister, Julie and I along with Khemrin and Dara went up to Siem Reap.

Vannak was 45 years old.  He became a Christian, attended and graduated from the Bear Valley school in Siem Reap and then became one of their 3 teachers there.

His wife, Sophouen (pronounced So-poo-un) is the school cook.  They have 3 children.  The boys are 19 and 18 and their daughter is 14.

He lived his life as an excellent Christian man and example.  He will be missed here.  However, we rejoice that he is getting to see His Lord face to face.

Wednesday afternoon at 4pm, we had a service of singing, praying and a short message.

Then Thursday morning at 8am, there was another service.  After that, the body was loaded in the truck and we all drove about an hour to his burial spot.

Typically here, they cremate, but the church has a plot of land in the country for anyone who wants to use it.

These are his 3 children.  The oldest son, in the middle of the picture, gave the eulogy and then said, "Now I am going to tell you about my dad from my heart."  He talked about how much different his dad's life was after he became a Christian and he asked everyone to hold him accountable, so that he can walk the Christian life diligently. Please keep these sweet ones in your prayers.

This is Sophouen and her oldest son, watching them take the casket out of the truck.
I took this picture off of Facebook.  This is how I remember Vannak.  He always had a smile on his face.  I can only imagine how much bigger that smile is now.

Along with Sophouen and their children, please keep the church in Siem Reap in your prayers as they will miss his godly teaching and his example.

How awesome of the promises of God!  I can't wait for you all to get to meet his sweet man in heaven!

Much love,

Ronda

Praying for this precious godly family. His life spent for the Lord, has brought salvation to many and his teaching has brought knowledge of The Way and how to live while here on Earth! What a great honor to have his oldest son proclaim his desire to live a faithful life dedicated to serving Christ. What a comfort to KNOW WHERE your earthly father is spending eternity and that we may live there also one day. I’m praying for them - because they will miss his earthly presence until they are called home to reunite as a family one by one. I look forward to meeting this man who loved God, his family, his Christian brothers & sisters& his love for the lost! Ronda - when we get to heaven- I would love for you to introduce me all the Christians you (& Rich) knew & loved in Cambodia... and there will no longer be a language barrier when I have the joy of meeting them! I pray for your safety from Covid and protection as you teach and serve God . Merry Christmas & happy new year ! You are thought of and prayed for often! Love Cynthia
